Introduction

What's more terrifying that the prospect of losing one's mind ? Our identity and our personality lie in the complete control of our mind. Indeed, it is in our spirit and in our memory that we can see the best portrait of ourselves. Obviously, our physical appearance has little influence on our behaviour. On the other hand, our past and what we know about other people have a huge impact on how we live at every moment.

Cinema has been interested in madness in many films. Different forms of psychoses have been presented, like schizophrenia, paranoia, amnesia etc. In my Internet project, I am going to analyse some films which deal with a form of madness. I chose these films as a beginning for my study : The Shining, Memento, Shutter Island, A Beautiful Mind, Fight Club, Psycho, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Seven, Amadeus, Persona, Solaris.
